Selena joined EFBC in August 2026 as the Program Coordinator. Selena is responsible for coordinating with the various EFBC committees and Strategic Partners to plan and facilitate events and develop educational curriculum and content.
Selena has experience working in a family business, as her paternal family has owned and operated a concrete business in Louisville, KY since 1974. Selena grew up in Central Kentucky in a big family comprised of her loving mother, stepfather, and 5 siblings. After high school, Selena relocated to attend The University of Chicago, and in 2022 she graduated with a BA in Political Science and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES) with honors. She won the CRES BA Prize for her 46-page undergraduate thesis.
Before joining EFBC, Selena has worked and/or interned at Rush University Medical Center, The University of Chicago, U.S. House of Representatives, Chicago Review, and Chicago Public Schools (CPS). She is pursuing her MA at DePaul University.
Outside of work, Selena enjoys trying new restaurants and cuisines, helping others, watching reality TV with friends, fashion, art, going out dancing, or simply staying in with Uber Eats and her heated blanket!
